Shouldn’t Obama & Democrats spend money to stimulate economic growth instead of a bunch of boondoggles?

Can you answer BigChiefEddieLightningFrog’s question about Leads?:

Why not lower taxes so that successful American businesses will have more money to exploit opportunities leading to growth of the nation’s GDP?

How about gov’t subsidies for job creation?

It would seem American businesses can better identify what will make our economy grow since they are our economy!
Heres a good link for anyone even slightly persuaded by the first two responders:

Leads Feedback: Well, the last tax cut of 2008 did little to nothing to stimulate job growth and to add to that, most economists agree that tax cuts are ineffective stimulus as they add less money to the economy than they are actually worth. Projects that invest in things like infrastructure are MUCH more cost effective.

Leads Feedback: Not when money goes into off shore tax havens, or lines their greedy pockets. Maybe they should have a credit if reinvesting?

Subsidies for job creation? You just wait. It took Jesus 30 years to make a change.

Leads Feedback: A Democrat lower taxes? That would go against everything Obama believes in.

Leads Feedback: Apparrently the private sector are all just greedy mafiosos and pirates. That’s why when the Bush Administration did what they asked and turned a blind eye to their books, we got a huge economic catastrophe. Apparently, the Democrats’ economic philosophy is probably the correct one. We’ve heard the rhetoric from the Right, and we’ve seen what we get. Corruption! Corruption, aaaaand, Corruption.

Leads Feedback: What would you suggest, giving the money straight to China or just direct deposit into offshore accounts for multinational corporate CEOs?

Leads Feedback: Millions of the bailout would help ‘green energy’ projects. Building a solar farm in the desert is one project. However, the utility has already said the project would double the electric cost (due to lack of infrastructure to deliver the electricity). Hmmm. Now, if instead, you offered millions to homeowners and businesses to install solar on their homes taxpayers would have free/cheaper electric bills saving the little guy money. Dozens of small companies would se business grow, and many would get jobs. The cost of solar would go down, as there many new developments that are market-ready.
And the politicians pick …………. big business as usual. No incentives for creativity. And more taxes to the middle class.

Leads Feedback: Yes, they should stimulate economic growth. Since the huge tax cuts Bush gave to the richest and the corporations led us to the current economic meltdown, why do more of the same? It has not worked and will not work because it causes the boom, bubble, bust cycle we have seen.

Tax cuts should go to businesses that create jobs for Americans. If you invest in a business in US, then you get a tax rebate or for every job you create, you get a rebate. This tax cuts across the board and hope for the businesses to invest in the right things did not work. Greed and corruption were the drivers.

Infrastructure projects have proved to be an effective way to create jobs and stimulate the economy. This is what we should start with and then work from there concentrating on American made products.

I also think we should put together a database of H1Bs currently in the USA and the jobs they hold with the qualifications. Unemployed Americans who have these skills should be able to apply for and receive training for the jobs. Why do we have millions of H1Bs in the country taking jobs away from American workers? Force the H1Bs to train the Americans and send them back where they came from. American jobs for American people.

Leads Feedback: They shouldnt because govt spending is wasteful often with questionable results. (especially when its trying to do something it shouldnt like control the economy)

According to people like Obama, businesses ARE the problem in America oppressing people making PROFITS! (How dare they)

Subsidies are horrible because they throw the weight and resources of the govt behind a project that maybe shouldnt be. If something is good enough enterprise, it ought to be profitable and stand on its own.

Yes, businesses are the answer, and the free market to drive them.
